Curator of Visual Art and Performance
The Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle is looking to hire a person for the position of Curator of Visual Art and Performance.
Job description / main tasks
The person in this position will be responsible for:
– observation, analysis, and evaluation of changes in the field of contemporary art with particular emphasis on performance,
– organization of projects presenting some of the most interesting contemporary artistic phenomena, especially in the field of performance,
– participation in the programming and implementation of the CCA’s activities,
– establishing and maintaining contacts as well as permanent cooperation with institutions involved in culture and contemporary art,
– budget planning, forecasting and reporting,
– preparation of materials for publications, press releases, etc.,
– supervision of administrative issues regarding the projects,
– participation in supplementing and widening the CCA collection.
General requirements
– ability to work in a team,
– creativity, flexibility, as well as good organizational skills,
– resistance to stress,
– very good knowledge of the English language, both orally and in writing,
– proficient computer skills (Office - particularly Word and Excel, Internet),
– higher education.
Specific requirements
– knowledge of the history of art, with particular emphasis on the Twentieth Century, and the current situation of international and Polish contemporary art, especially performance art and a general knowledge regarding the situation of theater and dance,
– knowledge about artists, institutions, and the leading representatives in the world of performance, as well as basic knowledge of theatre and dance,
– knowledge of the methodology of exhibition production and production of performative events,
– knowledge of the methodology of catalogue production and other publications,
– general knowledge of the main streams in contemporary culture,
– at least 2 years experience working as a curator in the realization of performance projects.

Curator of the Film Programme
The Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle is looking to hire a person for the position of Curator of the Film Programme.
Job description / main tasks
The person in this position will be responsible for:
– observation, analysis, evaluation of changes, trends and artistic developments in the field of contemporary cinema,
– organizing film presentation programmes, and other projects such as film exhibitions and film production,
– establishing and maintaining contacts as well as permanent cooperation with institutions involved in culture and contemporary art-house cinema,
– participation in the programming and implementation of the Centre’s activities,
– budget planning, forecasting and reporting,
– preparation of materials for publications, press releases, etc.,
– supervision administrative issues regarding the projects,
– participation in supplementing and widening the CCA collection.
General requirements
– ability to work in a team,
– creativity, flexibility, as well as good organizational skills,
– resistance to stress,
– very good knowledge of the English language, both orally and in writing,
– proficient computer skills (Office - particularly Word and Excel, Internet),
– higher education.

– knowledge of the methodology of implementing film programs, film festivals, as well as the production of film projects,
– knowledge of the methodology for the creation of catalogs as well as other publications in the field of cinema,
– at least 3 years experience in a similar area of work related to films, festivals, organization of screenings, film production, etc.,
– general knowledge of the main trends in contemporary art and the ability to connect different disciplines of art.

Coordinator – Curator of the Green Jazdów project
During the summer of 2013, the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle plans to carry out the second edition of the Green Jazdów project. The project will consist of organized artistic events, meetings, conferences, as well as workshops related to the broader themes of ecology and healthy lifestyles.
We are looking to hire a person for the position of curator – coordinator of the project for the duration of 8 months, from February to October 2013.
Job description / main tasks
The person in this position will be responsible for:
– participation in the curatorial development of the Green Jazdów programme,
– coordinating the process of preparation and implementation of both the substantive and administrative-organizational,
– cooperation with the appropriate CCA departments in order to create the project, timetable, cost estimate, promotional materials - monitoring expenses, payments, contracts,
– cooperation in raising funds for the realization of the project: preparing applications to funders, materials for sponsors, etc.,
– report as well as accounting for the project.
Requirements
– an interest in environmental issues,
– knowledge of new trends in contemporary art,
– organizational, communicational, and interpersonal skills,
– experience in project management,
– ability to work in a team,
– higher education,
– extensive knowledge of the English language,
– computer proficiency: Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet), the ability to use software for managing the project as well as tasks,
– resistance to stress,
– availability.
