Reporting to the Director, this curatorial position is responsible for the production of exhibitions from concept through to realization, including research, planning, organization, set-up coordination and interpretation; budget preparation and management.
The Curator must be familiar with local, provincial and national visual arts communities; have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team oriented environment. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of the theoretical, historical and intellectual contexts of contemporary art practices and an ability to communicate this knowledge to both specialized and general audiences.
Applicants require a fine art degree and 3 to 5 years experience in a public art gallery, preferably in contemporary curatorial work.
